Archaeology
The gallery describes the story of human evolution and cultural development in Zambia from Stone Age to Iron Age. Exhibits show shifts in prehistoric technology and its application in food production and preparation. Highlights include Broken Hill Man skeletal and associated material, Stone Age tools and way of life, cave art, Iron Age tools, pottery, copper work, early trade and agriculture. The material evidence comes from prehistoric sites around Zambia, for example, Broken Hill (Kabwe) Mine in Kabwe, Nachikufu Caves in Mpika, Ing’ombe Ilede in Siavonga and Sibusenga in Kazungula.
